on being pleasured: a review...

DSC01845

once upon a time in a place called galveston
there was a flagship hotel {click here} on a pier
then a little storm called IKE happened
and that little hotel went away...
and now there in nothing but
{pleasure}
Photobucket
for the small price of $21.99...+tax

now that you have viewed all the enjoyable pics
and you are probably slightly jealous of our pleasure
let's break this thing down...
temperature
kendahl and i arrived on galveston at approximately 4pm
we enjoyed some beach time for about 1.5hrs (no bird poop this time)
then we got some dinner...and headed over to the pier
which put us being pleasured at around 7pm
for those of you who have not been to texas
its still hot...and steamy at 7pm!
i simply can't imagine what it would be like in the middle of the day...for real...it was warm
there is a slight breeze that comes off the water to make it more bearable but we were there in the evening
i really don't think i would go to this place in the middle of the day...
price of admission
collectively, we agreed that the price for admission is slightly steep
having said that, we did not (because i am a wimp) ride the roller coaster or the log ride
which are probably two of the best rides the pleasure pier has to offer
and the ferris wheel was not open for enjoyment yet...bummer for me...great for kendahl

employees
i was pleasantly surprised by the work force at pleasure pier
everyone...and i mean everyone was delightful!!!
we were greeted with smiles and excitement at every ride
the conductors were energetic and seemed happy to be pleasuring all of us...
and even the police were jovial...including the officer who gave us a little bit of grief
upon entering the first aid zone to get a band aid (said we were just there to get some a/c action...maybe we were, maybe we weren't)
the same officer who saw us later and made a point of calling us out...again!

parking
here's where it gets un-pleasurable folks
there is parking all along the seawall...which is great
but if you go on a weekend...forget it!
a small paid parking lot has been designated for use of the pleasure pier
getting in was fine but getting out was a big pain in the tookus
worst design i've ever seen...ever!
so, if you go, park there at your own risk!

all-in-all the pleasure pier is a great way to spend some time
you will certainly be pleasured...but it will cost you!!!
