i saw this painting in a gallery while walking through the boise airport last month

i think it is beautiful

in a haunting sort of way

...get your frame on!

last month

i devoted a lot of time in search of the perfect frame mats for my new pad

a lot of searching that did not prove fruitful

so, as i do, i took matters into my own hands

hat's off to 2011's 1st D.I.Y.

1) items needed: spray adhesive, tissue paper (loving' all things paperchase these days), razor or exactor knife, & a frame mat

2) spray light layer of adhesive on mat (i chose to do mine on the back just in case i change my mind some day and want to use the original mat again)

smooth wrong side of tissue paper on adhesive side of mat

3) using razor, cut out open spaces

4)voila! frame it up!!!

it's as easy as 1-2-3

i'm starting my christmas list early this year

...weekend project!

i love puzzles, i love coffee table activities...so what could be better than a coffee table puzzle? absolutely nothing, i tell you! growing up we had one of those wood cartooned united states puzzles and i simply could not get enough of it...turns out 20 years later i had to make the "grown-up, sophisticated" version (i know, not fooling anyone, i'm neither of those things...but!) here is the end result. i'm quite pleased, and the guests seem to dig it too!

been thinking 'bout putting the state abbreviations on the back with a dot on the states i've been to(maybe vinyl stickers, what think ye Squish?)...however, that, i'm afraid, will have to be another weekend...!
